A-Kon 33: Attendee Refunds Are Happening — Here’s the Status

It’s been just over a week since attendee refunds for A-Kon 33 began processing. Below, we’ve compiled information and answers to the most common questions we’ve received. How Do I Get My Refund?

Attendee refunds began processing on May 9th, 2025 to the original payment method used at the time of purchase. When the refund was issued successfully, a confirmation email was sent to the email address used during registration. Many of you have already received your funds, while others are still in progress.

What If There is An Issue With My Original Payment Method?

If you no longer have the original payment method, or have had an account change, don’t worry. We are on top of it, and the good news is that you likely won’t need to take any action for your refund to come through. 

  • If your card has changed, in most cases, your bank will automatically route the refund to your new or replacement card.

  • If you no longer have that account or card, many banks will still deposit the refund directly into your linked account.

  • If neither of those options works, the refund will be returned to the credit card processor, and we will be notified. From there we will reach out to you and work out a different solution to get your refund to you. 

The process can take up to 15 business days, particularly if the amount is being rerouted. If you don’t see anything in your email or bank account within that time, please touch base with us. We’ll stay in touch until we’ve confirmed your refund is complete. 

What If I Didn’t Get My Refund Confirmation Email?

When your refund was successfully issued, a confirmation email was sent to the address used during registration.

Didn’t get one? Check your spam or promotions folder. If there’s still nothing, reach out so we can confirm your status and make sure we have the right contact information.

How Long Will It Take for Me to Receive the Refund?

Refunds can take up to 15 business days to appear in your account, depending on your bank or credit card provider. Some are processed quickly, while others may be delayed by institutional policies.

If it’s been longer than 15 business days and you haven’t seen the funds or heard from us, please contact info@a-kon.com.

How Will the Refund Appear on My Bank Statement?

Refunds may appear as a generic credit like 'A-Kon Refund' or 'Event Refund,' or under the name of our payment processor, Stripe. If you’re not sure whether a deposit is your refund, we can confirm it for you via email.

Why Did the Refunds Take So Long?

We know this process took far too long—and we take full responsibility for that. There were delays and breakdowns internally and externally that contributed to the timeline.

What matters is that it’s being resolved now—and that we’re committed to preventing this kind of delay from happening again.
