A-Kon 31: 2021 Postponed, The Sequel
One year ago, we wrote to you all that the developing situation with COVID-19 meant that we needed to take precautions and postpone A-Kon 31 until we felt that it was safe for our community. Unfortunately, given the current state of the pandemic, we have made the necessary decision to hold off for one more year.
We hardly need a lengthy flashback episode to explain why we need to make this decision. The national situation with the virus did not get better over the course of 2020, and even with vaccines in production we’re still not out of the woods yet here in Texas. We feel that no amount of convention withdrawal is worth putting our friends and family at risk.
For those of you who have already registered for A-Kon 31, your registration is still valid and will carry over to the 2022 event. We’re asking for those who are able to help support the con to wait and see what we have planned for next year before requesting a refund as every dollar goes to making 2022 worth the wait. However, we know the pandemic has left some of you in a tough place, so we are opening another refund window from March 1st until April 4th, 2021. If you are in need of a refund, please send us an email request.
No one likes an extended filler arc, so we’re not going to leave you hanging long. Our 2022 dates and venue info are coming soon!

Hell no! We are using this time wisely and we guarantee that you will not want to miss what's coming!
Will my registration carry over to 2022?
Yes! All existing registrations will completely carry over to the next event with no additional charges. The $25 merch credit and skip-the-line autograph token that we gifted to everyone who stuck with us in 2020 will also carry over to the next year.
No further action is needed on your part; this process will be automatic.
When will registration open for 2022?
We will open registration alongside the dates and venue announcement which we are planning to do next month provided there are no more freak ice storms.
How do I get a refund?
Contact Customer Service and we will get back to you as quickly as we can! Please be aware that registration prices for A-Kon 31 will not be reset, so if you are refunded an early-bird or discounted price, we will not be able to apply that price or any free benefits that came with it to any future purchases.
