This 7-member idol group debuted in April 2022. FRUITS ZIPPER was formed by ASOBISYSTEM’s new project KAWAII LAB, dedicated to sharing Japanese idol culture with the world.The group’s name combines FRUIT, from the phrase ‘to bear fruit,’ and ZIP, meaning ‘to give energy.’

With the concept of ‘From Harajuku to the World,’ the group hopes to transmit what they call ‘NEW KAWAII’ from Harajuku, an area known for fashion and individuality, to their soon-to-be global fanbase.

With over 1 million followers across social media, the group was the hottest new idol group in 2022, and has appeared at numerous large-scale events.

Watashino Ichiban Kawaiitokoro, the group’s second single released on April 29, has been a huge hit with middle and high school-aged TikTok users! The song has been used in over 61,000 videos totaling over 500 million views! Despite being new on the scene, FRUITS ZIPPER was featured on a TikTok banner and on TikTok’s HOT SONGS IN JAPAN list. The track reached #20 on Billboard’s TikTok Weekly Top 20 (5/25) and #1 on Spotify’s Viral Chart.
