Is that oversized prop or weapon you crafted to win the cosplay contest weighing you down? We know trying to wade through the exhibit hall with your zanpakuto without accidentally killing everyone in sight can be a real problem. Don’t worry. We’ve got you fam. Just haul it up to our Cosplay HQ and we’ll hold on to it for a while.

How does it work?

Bring your prop of doom to our Cosplay HQ and one of our staff members will have you fill out a check tag. Half of the tag will be given to you and we’ll safely attach the other half to your item. Then we put it away for you and bam - it’s done. Just don’t lose your check tag. You’ll need to present it when you return, otherwise you might not be able to get your item back.

Here are the important things to know:

• Cosplay HQ is located in the Irving Convention Center on the 3rd Floor in Room 11.

• The hours for the Cosplay Contest Prop & Weapon Storage are:

  • Friday: 10am - 7:30pm
  • Saturday: 10am - 7: 30pm
  • Sunday: 10am - 4pm

• You’ll have to agree to fill out a small waiver on site while we stare at you.

• Any large items, prop or weapon may be checked-in provided it has a valid prop/weapon check tag from downstairs and is too large to fit inside of the lockers downstairs.

• Items deemed dangerous (ex: blades without sheathes, sharp/pointy items, chandelier destroying beachballs of doom, etc.) may be refused at the discretion of our cosplay staff.

• Any items not picked up before the HQ closes on Friday must be picked up the following day. Any items not picked up before the HQ closes on Saturday will be discarded, kept or sent home with a new owner who will show it the proper affection it deserves.

• All loose items must be in a bag in order to be checked-in. If you hand us a bunch of loose items we will make you fill out a form for each one of them. Then we’ll lose the forms and make you do it again.

The Cosplay Contest Prop & Weapons Storage is offered as a courtesy service and, if you leave something with us, you do it at your own risk. At least, that’s what the piece of paper we’re going to make you sign says.
